We were lucky to see the same midwife (Fran Kimpton) during my antenatal care (up to 40 weeks). Fran was professional, caring & able to answer my questions in a reassuring way, The breastfeeding session/Parentcraft sessions were both very informative & presented in an informal way. Maybe some group gelling time to get to know other pregnant women would be useful. Ways to improve - Perhaps a leaflet G.P.s could give, when you first go to them for referral. Found G.P. struggled,

The nurses were very helpful and they looked after me very well even when I didnt need anything they still checked on me and they done a brilliant job they answered any questions I had and they explained everything very well I dont think anything needs improving everything was great.

Same midwife throughout pregnancy (Fiona chineek) Happy to answer any questions. Excellent consultant at GWH (Dr Nargan). monitored carefully throughout. Midwife always available if needed. Care has improved since last baby nearly 6 years ago.

Not practical or helpful to new mothers to not provide time slot for midwife to visit at home. We missed one midwife visit, despite saying on booking that we would not be available for one hour that day. It has been confusing seeing so many midwifes postnatally. I would have preferred more continuity.

The care I have received from this department has been superb. I saw 2 midwives during my pregnancy and both were entirely proffessional, caring and completely had my interest and health at the core of their practice. I'm very grateful for all their help!
